Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant's gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, and olive baboon. Day 2 Serengeti National Park Seronera Campsite
After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti and at midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is one of the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes, short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes.
Serengeti National Park in Central Seronera is well known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the "Big Five", named for the 5 most prized trophies taken by hunters. The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. The reclusive leopards are commonly seen in the Seronera area.

Enjoy the game drive until lunchtime when your driver will set and prepare the table for a hot meal of soup, bread rolls, the main dish and fruit salad. After lunch, your search continues for the big cats and the "Big Five". In the evening, you'll drive to the lodge/ camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

[ Serengeti National Park ]

Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's most famous national park, a vast ecosystem home to over three million large mammals. Its vegetation is dominated by open grasslands, but during severe droughts, it can almost completely transform into desert. In wetter areas, water centipedes dominate. The central part of the park is dominated by vast expanses of acacia woodland-savannah. Hilly vegetation, dense woodlands, and some gallery forests cover much of the northern part of the park.

Meals Included
Double room at Seronera Campsite or similar hotel

Day 3 Serengeti National Park Whole Day Seronera Campsite
The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The areas that you visit will depend on where the migrating herds are. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals and include lions, leopards (in the acacia trees) and cheetahs. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return up north. As the migration is completely dependent on the yearly rainfalls, the location of the herds may vary from year to year but your guide will know where to locate the animals and where to see them best. You will spend another night at the lodge/ camp.

Citing concerns about the preservation of the natural value of the NCA, starting in 2021, the Tanzanian government designed and then started implementing a plan to relocate all of the Maasai people in Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Msomera, a village 600 kilometers away. This is considered a voluntary relocation, however, Human Rights Watch reports that the government has acted in a coercive way without accordance to the principle of free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC).
